Bioinformatics Intern (Summer 2017)

We are seeking a Bioinformatics Intern in our NYC Headquarters, reporting into the Biomarker Discovery Team, where you will work with us to discover how human genetic variation can impact female health and infertility.

What you will do:

• Apply bioinformatic and computational methods to genomic sequencing data
• Assist with the integration of genetics and clinical datasets for biomarker discovery
• Perform quality control checks on genetics data and internal genome annotations
• Provide general bioinformatics support to other research teams

What we require:

• Progress towards an undergraduate or graduate degree, with a concentration in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Genetics, or related field
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux working environment
• An interest in women’s health and fertility

Preferred by not required:

• Familiarity with NGS sequencing technologies
• Familiarity with genomic data analysis tools and algorithms
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, R
• Database programming experience

Internship hours:

• The internship tentatively begins June 1 and ends August 15
• 20-30 hours a week around your schedule between the hours of 9am – 6pm on Monday through Friday.
