BI Business Analyst

The position of Telecom Expense Management Business Intelligence Implementation Business Analyst (TEM BI BA) provides critical business intelligence input within the MDSL Projects. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the continued growth and development of our unique and innovative business intelligence platform.

A TEM BI BA will be responsible for managing the requirements gathering, scoping and feasibility analysis of all customer specific implementation reporting outputs using the MDSL HTML5 and legacy SSRS platforms. The BI BA works closely with the project management team to prioritize deliverables and negotiate on product functionalities.

The ideal TEM BI BA possesses the ability to learn the proprietary software rapidly to configure, apply analytical troubleshooting tools, and to problem-solve application issues.. The activities may include some or all of the following:

Implementation tasks

  • Assist in the client’s data acquisition process, analysis and resolve data integrity issues
  • Understand the TEM data structure within multiple customer organizations
  • Gather and analyse the clients’ reporting requirements
  • Perform extensive data validation/quality assurance analysis within large datasets
  • Create and maintain documentation related to customer specific reporting outputs, i.e. functional and technical specifications
  • Facilitate customer review and sign off on reporting specifications
  • Provide support to the Core Business Intelligence team, where development is required.
  • Configuration and test of all bespoke reporting outputs
  • Coordinate and Support Customer UAT of reporting outputs
  • Configure relevant User Role permissions
  • Ensure transfer/activation of all reporting outputs on Production
  • Ensure Project Manager is updated on all ongoing actions
  • Perform other implementation duties as assigned
  • Documentation
  • Create and maintain any relevant documentation related to the implementation and transition phases of a TEM implementation project

Project Management Support

  • Participate in regular status calls and meetings both internal and with the customers
  • Ensure that the Project Manager (PM) is updated on any actions due
  • Support the logging of actions and minutes from each meeting
  • Provide subject matter support to the PM

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field or equivalent experience required
  • 4 years’ experience implementing and/or configuring software solutions required
  • Experience working in a client facing environment required
  • Experience working in a project management environment preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote) required
  • Basic SQL (select, insert, update and delete queries)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple project actions and complete complex tasks to a high level of accuracy and under pressure required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills required
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and solution-orientation required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required
  • Local candidates preferred
  • Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship required

Additional Skills – Non-essential:

  • Experience with creation of business process and product specifications
  • General accounting knowledge helpful
  • Expense Management experience (Industry/Carrier or Customer/Procurement) a plus
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Parsers/Constructors experience a plus
  • Knowledge of customer data integration
