BAR PORTER-BOAT BAR

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The incumbent is also responsible for breaking down and cleaning of bar outlets and keeping supplies stocked.

Responsibilities

Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and team members, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers

Cleans various bars as assigned or according to rotating schedule

Cleans service stations, including drains, counters, guns, ice bins, boots, speed racks, EDI’s and syrup containers

Maintains equipment, including blenders, mixers, strainers and juice machines

Maintains stockroom cleanliness, including cleaning all shelves

Cleans glass washer and drains

Cleans reach-ins, beer and keg coolers, elevators and wine containers

Assists in major breakdown and re-assembly of bar’s stock and setup

Qualifications

This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. Incumbents are subjected to hazards such as chemicals and cleaning supplies; proper safety precautions are taken.

Ability to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible

Ability to effectively and efficiently move around bar area

Ability to effectively communicate with customers and all levels of team members

This position requires physical mobility so as to perform breakdown and cleaning duties

Ability to lift 50-pound bags of ice and push/pull carts which weigh up to 100 pounds

Ability to use cleaning utensils (scrub brushes, etc.) and equipment.

Prior food and beverage experience preferred, but not required

Ability to work with little or no supervision

Ability to obtain ABO card and Responsible Vendor

The skills and abilities necessary of this position are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training.
