To help us drive our success into the future, we are looking for an experienced Backup Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Operations team at our Johannesburg offices. Job Purpose

Designs, configures, develops, integrates, tests, implements, documents, and supports the Backup Infrastructure ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Maintain the Master and Media servers by ensuring that device software and firmware are in keeping with the needs of the organisation

Provide Configuration, Performance and Availability management services for all Backup related technologies/infrastructure

– Always on Strategic alignment – Conform to all ITSM Governance controls related to Backup Infrastructure for incidents, problem and changes in line with the specific system MTTR

Ensure all Requests made through the Service Management tools are serviced

Deploy and manage associated application platforms used to manage the environment

Preferred Qualification and Experience

Qualifications:

IT and Computer Sciences

National Senior Certificate, Vendor specific Backup qualification, ITIL certification

Experience:

3-4 years as a Backup Specialist

Azure/AWS cloud & automation skills e.g. Python

3-4 years Server Technical Support experience

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise

Troubleshooting

Understanding of Cloud Backup technologies

Storage Principles

Backup technology versatility
