DESCRIPTION:

Be part of a team that provides independent assessments and recommendations that help Arizona school districts become more accountable and efficient. Our school district performance audits have a strong financial component to them and meet the experience requirements for CPA certification. You will quickly gain broad experience auditing various areas of multiple districts each year. You may also be part of the team that produces the annual state-wide report analyzing school district spending at both the state and individual district levels or part of a team conducting special studies requested by the Legislature.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant is required to have one of the following:

• B.S. degree in Accounting, or the equivalent, with 24 completed semester hours of accounting and a minimum 3.0 GPA in accounting classes. Students within 6 months of graduation will also be considered.
• A master’s degree in a field emphasizing analytical skills, research, and organization of data.
• A bachelor’s degree in a field emphasizing analytical skills, research and organization of data, and at least 1 year of experience in performance auditing, program evaluation, financial auditing, or related experience.

In addition, candidates should possess the following:

• Willingness to travel out of town during the week approximately 5 to 10 percent of the time.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of Windows, spreadsheets, and database software.
