Athletics Marketing Assistant

The Athletics Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting with the execution of marketing plans with a focus on generating revenue and attendance for all 27 of our Division 1 programs. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting with the overall creation of the Social Media strategy and execution for Athletics. Assist with the creation of the overall marketing strategy including digital, TV, radio, print, social media, mobile etc. Assist with research efforts to identify most effective channels to reach a targeted audience. Gather content from internal departments and to send marketing and communication based emails, including Ticket Sales information, Community Newsletters, e-newsletters, etc. Assist with coordination advertising, brand awareness and creativity. Assist in development of a media/ advertising campaign and strategy based upon assigned budgets. Coordinate all in-game entertainment initiatives set forth by the department. Work with internal departments, i.e. media relations and video services, to focus on different avenues of marketing activation. Work to build relationships in the market with the key decision makers and partners in the political and business communities. Develop strong relationships with these local partners in all aspects and create ties with local sponsors and retailers. Work with local media partners and venues to create and implement marketing strategies, sales and creative promotions. Create and analyze various reports on event sales and trends. Develop the best experience strategy for our fans; before, during and after an event. Work closely with spirit teams and mascot to implement effective in-game entertainment for ticketed sport. Assist in hiring and managing in-game staff (public address, marketing interns). Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

Marketing or communications degree and/or background. 1 year marketing experience in marketing, advertising and/or media buying. Experience evaluating and analyzing media buys with metrics. Experience with market research a plus. Strong research and analytical skills, with an ability to identify trends, draw valid conclusions and make insightful recommendations. Strong quantitative analysis skills to interpret data and mine for insights. Excellent communication and presentation skills a must ? both written and verbal. Impeccable grammar and copywriting ability with a strong creative sensibility. Must be able to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.

This is a full time non exempt level position. This is a ten month position that will run from July 15, 2017 through May 15, 2018.
