Associate Research Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists in the fundamental and technical analysis of investment products, conducts product due diligence, research, and communicates results to Financial Consultants.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports senior analysts in research coverage of all sectors that are followed.

Participates/initiates efforts to build industry knowledge, company contacts, market intelligence aligned with senior analyst’s coverage.

Completes analytical projects as needed or requested.

Participates in the written research and maintenance reports on clients/companies/financial instruments.

Assists in the development of strategic objectives, philosophies, mission, strategies and tactics.

Prepare Afternoon Market Comment as necessary.

Assist in Research Library as necessary.

Builds and maintains firm financial spreadsheets/models.

Assist in generating and updating various quantitative/qualitative reports and presentations.

Discuss all of the aforementioned with the retail brokerage staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

SEC reporting requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley, to include best practices.

Federal and state securities laws and regulations.

Bloomberg, Eikon and Internet.

Effective computer, numerical reasoning, and time management skills.

Interpreting and applying state and federal statues and applicable securities rules and regulations.

Developing and leading initiatives from implementation to completion, as well as analytical ability to diagnose issues and recommend process improvements.

Read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal research documents.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Four (4) year degree in Business, Finance, or Communications, or equivalent, and two (2) to three (3) years prior experience in research analyses in a finance/banking or securities industry, or an equivalent combination of education.

FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) Series 7

FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) Series 63, or 65 and 66.

FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) Series 86.

FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) Series 87.

Or willingness to secure the above licenses within 12 months of hire.
