Responsibilities

Medscape, a division of WebMD, is currently seeking an Associate Front End Developer for our New York Education business unit. Medscape develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, as well as earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers.

The Associate Front End Developer position reports to the Associate Director, Publishing Operations for Medscape Education and will be responsible for successfully programming content onto the live site. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, highly organized, and will demonstrate expertise in HTML (hand-coded). This role requires someone who is extremely detail-oriented, is adept at problem solving, and can assist with our more technically complex products.

Specific Responsibilities:
Code pages for publication on Medscape.org using the in-house CMS and publishing tools

Should be comfortable editing JSP and XML pages

Work with the Publishing Operations team to deliver online content on schedule, often under tight timelines

Assist with technical support, troubleshooting, and updating of the publishing team’s processes

Conduct UAT and QA of new releases

Qualifications

BA, BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar area Minimum 2 years of web publishing experience Expert knowledge of HTML Knowledge of CSS Experience with content management systems Excellent problem solving skills Ability to maintain acute attention to detail and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Good communication and interpersonal skills MS Office, Photoshop/graphics software programs

Preferred: Familiarity with Javascript
