Associate Director, Designer Operations

Wayfair is looking for a creative, driven, entrepreneurial leader to help build one of our newest businesses . Wayfair Designer S ervices will connect interior designers with consumers via our proprietary platform to help customers achieve their vision for their home . Reporting to the General Manager of Designer Services, this role will be responsible for leading the designer side of this business – working cross-functionally to identify, attract, retain, cultivate and prune as necessary our designer community to ensure we are delivering the best customer and designer experience possible while rapidly scaling the business . You’ll be working with senior leadership to solve tough problems using a combination of quantitative data and qualitative reasoning .

Strong candidates must have a strong bias for action and ability to execute, be able to work cross-functionally with many types of people at all levels, have direct management experience, and a strong analytical backgrou nd. This is an ideal role for a top-tier management consultant , investment banker or others looking to transition into a high impact ecommerce role where you’ll be exposed to all parts of our business.

Responsibilities

• Become an expert on our designer community , using quantitative and qualitative data to drive insights and transform those insights into action
• Manage the overall strategy and execution for our designer community
• Define success KPIs for designer operations, monitor progress and iterate based on learning
• Define, pilot, and rapidly iterate initiatives designed to grow the business with an understanding and strategic view on all internal/external factors and influences
• Partner with and leverage internal teams to help drive agenda and implementation
• Develop talent within the organization – building and mentoring a team

Qualifications

• 3-5 years online marketing experience OR experienced consultant or investment banker looking to make move to Internet commerce leader
• Start-up/Entrepreneurial Experience
• Senior presence , able to clearly and consistently work side-by-side with a broad range of seniorities and functions from CEO to customer service to deliver against complex initiatives on-time, on-budget, and over target
• Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
• Able to pivot readily and react to real-time data
• Comfortable in a data-driven business environment
• Cross-functional leadership experience
• Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
• Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude
• Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and customer focus
• Top Tier MBA or equivalent preferred
• BA with strong academic record (strong preference for quantitative major)
