Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Social Media is an extension of the Corporate Communications team, providing day-to-day support of the Company’s social channels in partnership with the Customer Service and Marketing Social teams. This person is responsible for proactive outreach on social, as well as ensuring the routine monitoring of potential issues. He/she will also serve as a key content contributor to the Company’s various internal communication vehicles. This role reports to the Manager of Corporate Communications.

Responsibilities :
Help support communications activities around key company initiatives both domestically and on a global basis. Work collaboratively with individuals throughout the organization and on the Corporate Communications team to gather accurate information to help develop and execute the social and internal plans related to larger company initiatives and key PR campaigns.

Develop a social plan and voice in partnership with the Marketing and Customer Service functions to ensure a consistent and steady stream of content to customers and key stakeholders.

Build/enhance the company’s social response plan in a crisis including the routine updating of key contacts, templated responses and other administrative duties associated with the multiple company accounts.

Serve as the Community Manager of the various company social channels including ongoing monitoring, measurement and engagement activities.

Monitor media, social and web coverage of the company and industry. Keep the team informed of escalating issues (e.g., customer service or broader industry issues) and changes in the competitive landscape.

Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts or Science in Journalism, Communications or related area of study

Social Media experience in a corporate or agency setting (2-5 years)

Strong understanding of the social landscape, demonstrated usage of the various platforms and point of view on tactics

Resourcefulness, flexibility, adaptability and resiliency

Strong organizational skills, with ability to multi-task

Team player who can work collaboratively across multiple departments

Clear understanding of the 24/7 nature of social media and willingness to engage outside of typical office hours
