Assistant Chief Engineer

POSITION PURPOSE:

To maintain the guest rooms, public spaces and back of the house areas in good repair by performing preventive maintenance and various associated tasks related to a variety of trades including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, computer systems, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Respond to customer calls and complaints and correct temperature conditions in a positive, polite and timely manner. Monitor public space temperatures and make adjustments when necessary. Interact with Chief Engineer to assist in the start-up, shutdown and operation of all HVAC equipment. Visually inspect gauges, dials, mechanical equipment, Ph and chlorine levels of pool and spa, water temperatures and document all readings on the appropriate log, making adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain guest rooms, public space and back of the house areas, ensuring a safe environment for guests & team members. Touch-up, repair or replace any light bulbs, lamp switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grout or any other miscellaneous item in need of repair. This will require the individual to visually inspect and detect items needing repair and will require considerable knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades. Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical experience will be used frequently.
• Document, monitor, and assist in the PM program. Responsible for assisting Supervisor with Nexus PO creating, item inventory, and maintaining proper par levels of all Engineering items.
• Responsible for the preventive maintenance of all hotel equipment to include, but not limited to, pumps, a/c handlers & condensing units, water boilers, kitchen equipment, ice machines, etc.
• Assist in maintaining hotel computer systems by performing routine maintenance, powering up and down equipment, moving, exchanging, and swapping-out peripherals. Perform lock interrogations as requested by the Chief Engineer, GM or AGM and present findings in a timely manner.
