POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Art Director assists the Creative Director/Sr. Art Director/Art Director on internal concept, design, still life/fashion photography development and web promotions/campaigns. Must be able to analyze, interpret and transform customer information data into a strategy for a visual sales technique that fits the individual brand personality. Must develop a thorough understanding of brand positioning and the psychology needed to appeal to each specific segment within the customer file, as well as, what influences each group to purchase. Will provide assistance to concept, design and direct photography for web, catalog and collateral and produce consistent and unique visuals that reinforce and enhance the merchandising strategy. The Asst. Art Director is responsible for meeting creative schedules in order to ensure that all deadlines are met and vigorously adheres to established guidelines and legal requests and requirements.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist on all stages of creative from concept development through release and/or launch. This includes layout design and presentation, attend still and/or fashion photo shoots, film editing and placing, film and page presentation and final page file approval.

Develop strategies for effective web site and email designs with thorough knowledge of html coding and web infrastructure and navigation.

Work on all stages of planning and directing still life photography. This includes talent selection, set selection and on-location shoot management.

Work closely with Copywriters to ensure the visuals support and enhance the copy strategy for a cohesive message that will drive sales.

Collaborate with Web Designers, Desktop artists and Photo Producer.

Help oversee the production and completion of all creative projects on time and within budget constraints.

Participate with senior creative team to develop and evolve a long-term creative/copy strategy for the brand.

Participate with merchandising and product team to continue and enhance process development for the creative presentation of the brand.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree

3+ years’ experience in catalog design, web design, and html coding

Previous catalog art direction a plus

In-design, Illustrator, Photoshop, Web design a must, Flash design a plus

Hands-on experience directing digital still and fashion photography

Experience with managing website content.

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills [written and verbal] for effective interaction with all levels of company management, personnel and outside vendors.
