Asset Services Associate

The Asset Services team works in many markets and across various product lines including commercial loan servicing, custody, cash management, escrow and document custody. This position is responsible for accurate recordkeeping and execution of all deal activities, across the various product lines. This role will act as the primary transaction owner for Asset Services Associate II and Senior Asset Services Associate for commercial loan servicing invoices and reports, trade execution, wire processing, escrow setup and document custody releases. The Asset Services Associate I will be exposed to many facets of the commercial real estate, securities trading and private fund markets

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Work with Asset Services Associate II and Senior Asset Services Associate to review and understand administrative issues and deal structures within governing deal agreements. Update appropriate system to reflect specifics of each deal

• Calculate, prepare, and distribute monthly reports related to commercial real estate loan servicing, repurchase facilities, loan participations, custody and escrow services
• Responsible for input of funds movement related to cash managed deals
• Monitor trades, working with counterparties to ensure timely settlement
• Review and process distributions, and escrow payments via wire, ACH, or check
• Collaborate with other member of the team, including Senior Asset Services Associates and Account Managers
• Document custodial services for commercial, residential, or other loan facilities
• Inventory and certify loan files, reporting exceptions. Processing of full or partial release requests
• Gain a working knowledge of all relevant services performed by Asset Services and the related deal documentation

• Heavy use of Microsoft Excel

Experience, Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or economics or commensurate work experience
• Knowledge of account management, trust operations and administration, commercial mortgage lending or mortgage backed securitization including product knowledge and customer service a plus
• Ability to independently research and resolve complex problems
• Ability to work closely with internal groups and external clients; strong communication skills
• Demonstrated analytic skills, strong working knowledge of fundamental financial/accounting/business concepts and a strong, proactive interest in learning and mastering new concepts, new loan rules, and new service processes is an absolute requirement for the position
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience, knowledge or familiarity with Bloomberg, performance systems, and other loan research and analysis tools
