AS/400 Programmer – COBOL

SOFT’s client located in New York, NY is looking for a AS/400 Programmer – COBOL for a long term contract assignment.

• Knowledge of AS400, COBOL
• AS400 application developer

SUMMARY OF THE FUNCTION/ROLE
IT ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A SUITE OF 22 AS400 APPLICATIONS WRITTEN IN COBOL.
We are seeking AS400 programmers to work on maintaining and supporting these applications and performing work including but not limited to changes, enhancements and reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform programming tasks as assigned.
• Develop and maintain technical and standard documentation for the system and the suite of 22 applications in a timely and high quality manner.

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Detailed understanding of, and experience with, the AS400 environment
• Must have at least 7 years of experience in AS400 programming.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and communication skills
• Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
