AS/400 – COBOL – Application Development – Advisor

As an AS/400 – COBOL – Application Development – Advisor, you will be responsible and accountable for development and delivery of critical components in Rx Claim application space, along with their conformance to approved CVS Health IT standards. This position is critical to ensuring the consistent alignment of technical solutions with the business goals and objectives of the supported unit.

The AS/400 – COBOL – Application Development – Advisor – is responsible for serving as a technical advisor by providing industry leading technical direction and guidance to application development projects and ensuring appropriate and cost effective application of CVS Health approved technologies.

As an AS/400 – COBOL – Application Development – Advisor you will:

  • Provide solutions and designing complex functionality within the Rx Claim application adjudication area.
  • Lead assigned team projects.
  • Mentor junior developers on the Application Development team.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and review technical solutions and documentation within the application.
  • Define departmental standards and guidelines while aligning solutions to the application architecture.
  • This position can be located in either Richardson, TX; Buffalo Grove, IL; or Scottsdale, AZ.*

Required Qualifications

–Minimum of 5 years of proven knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle), platforms/application and/or software product/technologies with advanced knowledge of at least one or more products.

–Minimum of 5 years of experience in a combination of the following:

IBM AS/400

COBOL

Synon/2e

Cool2e

RPG 400

CL 400

Preferred Qualifications

–Synon experience is strongly preferred.

–IBMi SQL strongly preferred.

–Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.

–Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

–Experience in RPG/LE and CLE.

–Experience in PBM (Patient Benefit Management) Insurance or Healthcare industry.

–Experience with Rx Claim or other PBM system.

–Effective communication skills are required to facilitate meetings in both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional areas.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
