Art/Graphic Design Assistant – Part Time

American Airlines, the world’s largest airline has a new exciting opportunity for a talented junior designer, supporting the art department across three titles: American Way, Celebrated Living, and Nexos. These magazines have an incredible reach; being read by up to 16 million passengers a month. Will also assist the Art Director of Nexos in executing Ads for the Creative Solutions department.

At Ink we aim to produce magazines with a difference, so it’s vital that the candidate is a creative self-starter, confident in working on projects from the ground up. They must be organized and happy to work as part of a small team.

The ideal candidate must be passionate about all aspects of magazine design and be able to champion one of the world’s biggest brands. We are a global company and communicating and working positively is a vital part of the role. This is full-time on-site position located in our Miami office.

This position will start as a part time role that may become full time depending on departmental need.

The Role

– design FOB and departmental pages

– design Ads for the Creative Solutions Department under the Nexos Art Director

– send hi res images to the prepress department in London

– Prepare files for print

– Research images for publication, including stock houses and reaching out for provided art

– Assist in production of shoots

– Research and maintenance of illustration and photography files

– other office duties, including: mailing issues to contributors, and updating mini-walls of each publication

Desired Skills

– A degree in Graphic Design or equivalent

– Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency in InDesign

– Strong organizational and time management skills

– Ability to follow through on assignments
