Architect

Overview:
Zoot provides comprehensive, robust, and flexible credit decisioning, loan origination, and credit risk management solutions to fit our clients’ unique initiatives. We improve performance for innovative financial institutions through a reliable, secure, and scalable ASP environment, accounting for hundreds of millions of credit transactions each year.

The Architect performs in a technical leadership/oversight role for client platforms and/or Zoot Solutions projects. The Architect is the technical leader on a project from the sales phase through deployment. Architects design and are responsible for the technical feasibility and estimates of the solutions. The Architect ensures that the solution aligns with Zoot’s strategic objectives, architectural tenets and platform/solution architecture. Architects are responsible for the technical development of the Technical Leads within their assigned teams and/or projects.

Job Functions:
Acts as a technical leader and architectural representative for given client platforms and/or Zoot Solutions projects.

Provides technical sales support to Zoot’s Sales Group, including, but not limited to, making technical capability presentations to current and prospective clients, analyzing high-level client needs, contributing to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and creating and communicating conceptual platform proposals.

Identify and resolve solution proposals, designs, and implementations that conflict with Zoot’s strategic objectives, architectural tenets, or solution architecture.

Prototype/Investigate areas of uncertainty.

Responsible for documenting and communicating the architectural design of client platforms and Zoot Solutions.

Has authority and responsibility to ensure quality deliverables are in place before being delivered to QA including, but not limited to, reusability, scalability, reliability, maintainability and performance.

Has authority and responsibility to ensure the appropriate application of Zoot’s Tools, Service frameworks and modules, and design patterns has been accomplished before projects are delivered to QA.

Acts as Zoot’s representative on technical issues and decisions related to a platform/project and is responsible for ensuring Zoot’s strategic architectural objectives are maintained and not compromised.

Mentors and backs up Technical Leads on Client Delivery teams.

Responsible for identifying and disseminating information about reusable technical assets to the development team and ensuring these assets are properly integrated and deployed.

Stays apprised of Zoot Solutions, Software, and Infrastructure changes; Participates in preliminary testing / validation of new Tool and Service releases.

Responsible for providing regular status reports to the Sr. Architect.

Responsible for the discovery process, inclusive of estimations, prototyping, and design.

Participates in all phases of the development lifecycle including analysis, design, development, deployment planning, testing, code reviews and documentation on an as needed basis.

Achieve a service-focused culture with emphasis on delivering high-quality solutions and services to internal and external clients.

Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:
Four year college degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Equivalent combination of education and experience; 2-3 years of high performance as a Technical Lead.
