AR Bookkeeper

We are seeking a motivated, responsible, and organized BOOKKEEPER

Full Time, Monday – Friday, 9am –5pm

This position includes primary responsibility for accounts receivable as well as general administrative duties as a member of the bookkeeping team.

Responsibilities include:

• Handle cash receipts and prepare bank deposits
• Post cash, check & credit card receipts to customer accounts
• Follow up with customers to solve payment discrepancies
• Process whole sale credit card payments weekly
• Assume responsibility for timely collection of COD customer accounts
• Post credit memos and invoices to A/R
• Fax/e-mail skipped invoices to customers
• Maintain accurate and balanced customer ledgers
• Research problem accounts
• Prepare weekly sales reports
• File paid and unpaid invoices
• Assist with basic A/P functions including posting payables and cutting checks

We seek a highly organized, detail oriented team player who is accurate and efficient in completing his/her work and possesses the following qualifications:

• At least two years A/R experience, preferably in a food related business
• Experience with bookkeeping software
• Ability to follow precise directions and procedures and to work independently
• Strong interpersonal and telephone skills
• A superb attention-to-detail and excellent research skills
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• BA/BS in Accounting preferred
