Application/Software Developer

Position Summary:

The Developer’s primary responsibilities are to analyze, design, implement, test and maintain customized software applications. The Developer will have a strong knowledge of software development and design and will have experience working to develop and maintain business-critical applications.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Work across functional teams to understand key principles of organization and immersion into existing applications, data operations and workflow streams
Understand business requirements, identify and troubleshoot problems, write functional requirements
Translate business requirements from technical and non-technical staff into software specifications and determine operational feasibility
Collaborate with Business Analysts throughout the functional/technical requirements process.
Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications
Design, develop and create enhancements to existing and new applications
Adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques
Develop unit tests and provide code coverage to accurately test business logic and functionality
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the lifecycle of development, implementation and maintenance
Solve or recommend solutions for complex issues and problems
Foster a team approach to software development and delivery
Present technically complex topics to technical and non-technical staff
Stays current in new IT technologies to maintain a high level of subject matter expertise
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility and scalability
Participate in budget planning for application/software maintenance and development
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of skills and experience
Pharmacy or Healthcare applications/software experience
Significant experience in providing development delivery from inception to deployment
Familiarity with Agile software methodology
Working knowledge of web portal technology, .NET applications and applying MVC design methodologies
Significant experience using Microsoft Web and Application Development tools such as: ASP.NET framework 4.0+, C# and VB
Expert level knowledge of RDBMS and developing SQL queries, stored procedures and other database objects
Significant experience working with SQL-Server 2008 R2+ and SSIS – Past experience as a DBA a plus
Knowledge of ETL methodologies and working with flat files such as CSVs
Expert knowledge of Windows Server – Systems Administrator experience a plus
Ability to reverse engineer existing applications
Significant experience in providing development support for Test & Defect Management
Creative and resourceful when faced with unknown technologies to integrate into existing business processes
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Good analysis and problem solving abilities
Experience performing root cause analysis to find errors as well as making revisions
Must be motivated, detail oriented, and highly organized
