Application Support Analyst

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.
You will participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules. You will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years of professional information technology experience in large enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of Cybersecurity and IT Risk Controls concepts, terminology, issues, assessments and resolution
  • Proven experience in incident/problem management with a good understanding of any of the tools used for this purpose. Experience in managing incident management bridge calls with support teams. Work effectively within team to identify and resolve issues. Ability to think and act independently to resolve production issues
  • Extensive customer service and client interaction skills. Proven verbal and written communication skills for both technical and business audiences. Writing timely and accurate executive style technical communications
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis, documenting findings, and designing plans to rectify production issues
  • Solid technical skills including knowledge of web hosting, client server technology, mainframe, distributed platforms, network topologies, database technology, end to end understanding of 3-tier application architecture (frontend – application server – database)
  • Experience supporting applications using some of the following technologies: UNIX, Windows operating systems, Oracle, SQL Server, Apache / Tomcat or other equivalent web/app servers, Java, .NET, PHP, SFTP, HTML, JavaScript, Visio
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, including ability to interact with vendors, internal teams, serve as a trusted partner to various technology and business stakeholders
  • Must be comfortable and eager to perform tasks in all phases of the software lifecycle (e.g., requirements analysis, design/development, test, support)
  • Knowledge and experience working in an DevOps, agile environment and scrum activities such as UserStories, Backlog Planning, Sprint Planning, Story grooming etc using JIRA
  • Knowledge of cloud based environment, development and migration
  • Experience writing business requirements and review/produce specifications for any new/change to technology applications.
  • Experience working with service delivery, vendors and their development team to ensure that they understand the specifications. Experience creating SOW’s based on business requirements
  • Understanding of application code, work flow and business usage of applications to analyze business requirements to review/produce specifications for any new/change to technology applications
  • Experience in creating and maintain documentation to ensure knowledge accessibility and setting up test scenarios
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment
