Application Programmer

**Job Description: **

This is a back-end Java Developer position. You will be a part of the group that is responsible for editorial and publishing applications for The Dow Jones Digital Newsroom.

Responsibilities:
+ Implement, maintain and troubleshoot critical back-end applications for the publishing system.

+ Work with editors, product managers and other developers to deliver efficient and reliable solutions.

+ Be a part of 24×7 3 rd level support rotations for the Digital Newsroom.

Skills & Experience:
+ Computer Science B.S. or equivalent experience

+ 5 years of Java experience

+ Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux

+ Understanding of SQL and Xpath queries is required

+ Apache http server configuration knowledge is a plus

+ AWS experience is a plus

+ HTML, CSS, JavaScript is a plus
