Application Developer Sr

Provides information on the detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.

Designs and codes application programs; performs testing for developed applications .

Conducts analyses of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems .

Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system .

Ensures the operating efficiency of existing application systems. Maintains records for the documentation of systems development and revisions .

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Position Overview

The chosen candidate will work as part of Asset Management team using COBOL, CICS, DB2 and JCL to support the mainframe application, and Visual Basic and C# to support multiple distributed applications.

COBOL experience is required. Knowledge of other development languages preferred.

This position will be located at our Center City Philadelphia, PA facility ideally, but will consider candidates to work from PNC’s Pittsburgh, PA and / or Cleveland, OH locations as well.
