Application Developer / Senior – Lender Services

National General Insurance Irvine, CA Information Technology

Develop and Support Lender Placed tracking/issuance applications of the National General Lender Services division.

  • Work with domestic and offshore development team members.
  • Multi-task across multiple high priority projects competing for resources and often driven by externally required commitments.
  • Work with little supervision.
  • Lead smaller development teams while training and mentor less experienced associates.
  • Participate in Business Requirement reviews and design IT solutions
  • Support and assist QA /UAT testing
  • Package and install applications /programs in production environment
  • Review PPV (Post Production Validation) results and work closely with BA, QA, and UAT teams to fix any production issues.

    • Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent work experience required.
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
    • Ten plus years of Application Development Experience required.
    • Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle requirements and best practices, including appropriate separation of duties and data security practices.
    • Detailed knowledge of IBM Mainframe technologies including COBOL, VSAM, DB2 (or any mainframe database).
    • Knowledge of the industry technologies that support the lender placed insurance line of business is strongly preferred. This includes knowledge of the insurance and escrow functions of leading mortgage servicing systems.
    • Experience with NGLS applications is a huge plus.
