The

Application Engineering Department is seeking to hire a diverse, talented and versatile Application Developer, Intermediate. A

s an Application Developer Intermediate for the Student Application team you will develop, implement, maintain, and support student systems including Ellucian Banner.

You will work frequently with customers in other departments such as Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, etc., to implement solutions which aid in the recruiting and retention of students. You will also collaborate extensively with other technical teams to coordinate activities.

In addition to application source code, work product deliverables include requirements documentation, time estimates, design specifications, test plans, and any other documentation associated with projects, tasks, applications, support tickets, etc., to which you are assigned.

You will assist the team in transitioning from an Oracle PL/SQL-based development environment to Java, Groovy, and Grails as we convert our present Banner system to Banner XE.

Successful candidates will have,

Strong leadership skills

3+ years enterprise software development experience

Successful track record managing customer relationships

Oracle 11g or 12c

SQL, PL/SQL

PL/SQL Web Development Toolkit

Unix shell scripting

HTML, XML/XLST

Experience supporting a major ERP system

Strong project management skills

Solid business analysis experience

Strong work ethic

Preferred Hiring Qualifications

:

The preferred candidate should possess the following attributes,

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and three years of related experience

Ellucian Banner Student Information System experience

Knowledge of and experience with business processes within higher education, specifically those involving the enrollment management functions

Experience supporting a major functional module of Banner: Admissions, Registration, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, etc.

Experience developing data load sources with SSD Axiom software

Experience with CollegeNet Series25 (R25, S25, 25Live) software

Familiarity with other Ellucian products such as DegreeWorks, Workflow, Luminis, etc.

Banner XE development

Oracle Forms development

C/C++ and/or Pro*C

Experience developing under Red Hat Linux operating system

Java, Groovy, Grails, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript, AJAX,

Web Services

Microsoft Project

Strong planning and organization skills

Sound analysis, problem solving, and decision making skills

Experience with the entire software development lifecycle

Experience implementing and supporting enterprise portal technology
