Application Developer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Programming/Design/Reporting [90%]

  • Creates/updates programming for Aptify, Sitefinity, and email communications in consultation with Director, Information Technology and Operations and users, ensuring existing business processes are respected
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications department as it relates to development of approved designs for the website, LMS, Sitefinity, email communications, and other public facing assets
  • Documents solutions utilizing flowcharts, layouts and mockups to ensure solution meets user needs
  • Analyzes and recommends potential improvements to existing code and proposed business processes
  • Maintain and enhance search engine optimizations and manage web analytics
  • Manages and fixes software issues related to software development, websites, LMS, and AMS
  • Works with staff to ensure software issues are dealt with in a timely fashion
  • Ensures source code is properly maintained in a source code version control system
  • Works with Director, Information Technology and Operations to ensure software development is considered and tested as part of disaster recovery plan
  • Stays abreast of changes in general software development as well as the languages used by AAMA that may have a material impact on operations
  • Makes recommendations for and assists systems upgrades/changes
  • Documents AAMA source code and databases
  • Drafts SOPs for work in this position’s areas of responsibility, for review by Director, Information Technology and Operations
  • Creates and maintains staff training documentation for website, LMS, and Association Management System (AMS / Aptify), and Content Management Software (Sitefinity)*

Required Education / Experience

  • Programming experience with .NET (C# and VB)
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • 3+ years of programming, database creation/maintenance, application and web page development
  • Experience developing modern, interactive, responsive web and mobile front-ends

Highly desirable but not required

  • Programming experience with other front-end programming techniques Knockout, Angular, Bootstrap
  • Programming experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience developing in a .Net CMS environment (Sitefinity)
  • Experience developing in an enterprise CRM/AMS (Aptify)
  • Experience managing Google Analytics
  • Experience with unit, functional, and integration testing
