Analyst, Technical Systems

What is the opportunity?

As a Technical Systems Analyst with RBC Wealth Management you will, partner with business owners and other IT teams to assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs to provide solutions within our suite of RBC Wealth Management front and back-office applications. Working directly with business and infrastructure partners, you will have the opportunity to manage and drive application enhancements and ensure stability of existing applications.

What will you do?

Become proficient with several RBC Wealth Management front and back-office applications and become knowledgeable in how they integrate with other applications

Develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project

Is capable of managing joint development, testing and plans and coordinates implementations

Participates and/or leads application disaster recovery and performance testing activities

Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and interface groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close

Facilitates small to large group meetings for technical design, decision making, problem solving and task implementation

Prepares and delivers presentations to business and technology partners and senior management, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience

Provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staff

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

7+ years’ experience with technology projects and production support in the financial services industry. Experience facilitating application incident oversight (ticket initiation, communication and tracking to resolution).

Experience with application disaster recovery, IT portfolio specs, security assessments and associated documentation.

Extensive infrastructure knowledge: MVS, Client/Server, IIS, and Mainframe technologies

Security knowledge: Well versed with SSL Certs and SSO authentication methodology

IT Standards, Methodologies, CMM & audit requirements

Nice-to-have

Understanding of Network architecture.

CRM and/or Account Opening and/or Client Onboarding experience

Different programming languages (e.g. Cobol, JCL, Java, VB) and Middleware technologies (ex. MQSeries/Websphere, WXF, XML, .NET)

Understanding of software development and project management life cycles.
