Business Analyst – Information Technology

Overview

As a Business Analyst at United Airlines, you act as a liaison between customer and technical solutions/ support groups, using advanced communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate customer requirements. Possess expertise in Software Development Projects and have a technical understanding of the business unit’s systems, capabilities, and respective technologies. Prepare specified project documentation according to SDLC standards. Assist in business process redesign as needed. You are the final approver to make sure what is being developed/tested meets the requirements of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Lead meetings with technology and business partners to gather needs and requirement on more than one moderate to complex projects; Partner with business managers to provide leadership update
  
• Basic understanding of business principles; Create workflow models, process maps and perform gap analysis based on inputs from multiple sources
  
• Analyzes efficiencies and effectiveness of current solutions; identify problems and find solutions
  
• Make decisions within guidelines and policy, and ensure work is within project scope
  
• Document training programs, knowledge articles and monitor service levels

Education/Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration and/or equivalent work experience
  
• MBA or advanced degree preferred
  
• PMP; Scrum Master preferred

Experience

• Experience with RDMS (SQL Server or Oracle) and noSQL databases
  
• ITIL Certification
  
• Six Sigma Certified

• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
