Analyst, Financial

The primary responsibilities of the Financial Analyst is to support the Finance Manager and Brand CFO in the development and implementation of the annual budget, the monthly forecasts, the strategic plan, and the analysis & reporting of monthly operating results. He/she will work closely with department managers to monitor the budget and analyze monthly results. In addition, he/she will provide analytical support to business partners to help drive the company’s operating performance.
Responsibilities:
Support the monthly forecast, monthly reporting and analysis, the annual operating plan, and the strategic plan processes. Provide variance analysis and determine cause of change. Scope includes the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Provide meaningful, accurate and insightful, timely management reporting in an understandable format. Includes analysis of cost center spending/variances and margin analysis for assigned business units as well as supporting coalition teams (e.g. VF Outlet store team).
Month-end reporting and closing, including journal entry preparation, account review and analysis, submission of supplemental schedules.
Serve as liaison between finance and brand personnel for finance related issues. Able to provide expert procedural advice and solutions.
Assist in driving enhancements in financial reporting and analysis, policies/procedures and documentation, as well as systems transitions/requirements.
Provide ad hoc analytical support and perform special projects as needed.
Requirements:
3-5 years of related professional experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or finance/accounting
Master’s Degree in related field and/or CPA preferred
Experience in the Apparel industry is a plus
Proven business knowledge of finance and operations
Experience working in a cross functional environment and proven ability to communicate at all levels of an organization
Experience with Sap or other ERP software is a plus
Skills:
Ability to learn quickly when facing new tasks/objectives and can change quickly in a dynamic environment
Strong problem solving skills and disciplined approach to work with attention to detail
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to interface with brand leadership
Strong analytical and quantitative abilities, with focus on financial modeling and analysis
Advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
Ability to access data from multiple systems and understand the brand mapping and hierarchy
Proven ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks effectively
Less than 10% travel
