The Jefferies Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) group originates and executes public and private equity offerings, as well as equity-linked financings for our global clients. Our team partners with the firm’s investment banking professionals advising corporations, private companies, and financial sponsors globally on equity issuance and other aspects of the equity markets. ECM professionals are organized by sector, product and region. Our ECM team liaises with sales professionals, traders and research analysts in our global equities group. Position
: The ECM team are actively looking for an experienced Analyst level individual for our New York office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Pitch and execute U.S. ECM deals including IPOs, follow-on equity offerings, block equity trades, convertible offerings, and other equity-related product offerings
• Execution of mandated deals includes structuring, negotiation of legal documents and coordination of distribution
• Assist with strategic and financial analysis for preparation of pitch documentation and liaise with relevant investment banking and sales and trading teams
• Examine the strategic and financial merits of proposed transactions for marketing purposes
• Manage junior bankers in day to day tasks and projects within the ECM team
• Assist with the build out of the ECM platforms through recruiting, training and infrastructure development
• Ability to manage a range of non-standard and one-off assignments
• Respond to immediate client inquiries and manage ongoing client relationships
• Research potential targets, markets and sector trends
• Attend client meetings across the U.S. with senior bankers
• Develop and maintain relationships with other market participants, advisors and the investment community

Required Background:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); preferred Finance or Accounting related studies
• Understanding of ECM and previous experience in an ECM team is preferred
• Strong financial and analytical skills essential
• Rigorous eye for detail
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a number of different workstreams
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Insightful, reasoned and a self-starter
