The Corporate Finance Analyst will work with the broader Corporate Finance team to analyze and support the execution of strategic transactions at Hilton. Primary responsibilities will include analyzing Hilton’s financial plans, balance sheet objectives and financing requirements in order to identify and execute opportunities within the capital markets. Additionally, the Analyst will be responsible for supporting capital allocation and execution analysis. Specifically, the Team Member will evaluate potential strategic initiatives including, but not limited to, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, divestures and recapitalizations.

What will I be doing?

For successful execution, the Analyst will need to have experience and an understanding of public company finance, capital markets and Mergers and Acquisitions, preferably within the lodging sector. Additionally, the Corporate Finance Analyst must be a critical thinker able to assess, synthesize and communicate issues and solutions to the Corporate Finance team and other senior corporate leaders. The Corporate Finance Analyst will report to the Vice President of M&A and Capital Markets, but may also provide support to the SVP of Corporate Finance.

Other key priorities are listed below:

  • Will interact with Team Members in Development, Treasury, Legal, Communications, Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis and Corporate Strategy, as such, the candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic and absolute discretion regarding sensitive information
  • Analyze Hilton’s financial plans, balance sheet objectives and financing requirements
  • Support and maintain ongoing relationships with investment banks, rating agencies, lenders and other financial intermediaries
  • Analyze market trends in the real estate equity and debt capital markets and share intelligence regularly with Corporate Finance Team Members
  • Support data aggregation and documentation for capital market initiatives and activities
  • Provide analytical support for potential capital solutions across the portfolio and brands
  • Be an active participant in and contributor to analytical discussions with all levels of management
  • Analyze potential strategic initiatives including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestures, recapitalizations and spinoffs
  • Provide analytical support to investment and development teams when evaluating new opportunities
  • Evaluate current Mergers and Acquisitions trends and opportunities within the lodging sector
  • Analyze how public investors are likely to respond to various strategic initiatives
  • Provide support in preparation for Board and Executive Committee meetings
  • Assist senior Team Members with the preparation of analyses and communications to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide analytical support to the broader finance team as necessary
  • Exceptional critical thinking and both quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex analytical topics
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision making skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated history of strong academic performance and work ethic

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience
  • Direct experience with financial transactions (debt and equity issuance and corporate M&A)
  • Understanding of the basic principles of corporate finance; financial accounting and acquisition and merger analysis
  • Ability to build financial models to support Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Market analysis
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions even among seemingly unrelated events
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • MA/MS Master’s Degree
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
  • Investment banking and/or private equity experience
  • Hospitality industry experience
  • Public company debt and equity capital market experience
  • Experience using Bloomberg
