Airline Booking Agent

Position Description:

The Airline Booking specialist is responsible for the timely and efficient handling of inbound inquiries, to source hotel and transportation needs of airline clients that operate with AIMS-BMS system.

Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Negotiations skills using different channels and methods of communications (phone or electronic) * Ability to withstand significant pressures driven by volume, pace and challenging interactions

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume, target-based environment
  • Ability to follow complex and dynamic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage and provide feedback to all types of individuals
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficiency with SABRE (preferred)

Education/ Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) is required with two to three years’ experience of hotel/travel industry experience is required.
  • Experience in the airline industry is a plus: airline crew scheduling and/or crew planning. In the absence of a degree, comparable experience will be considered.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive inbound inquiries to source hotel, transportation and travel needs of clients,
  • Ensure Reservations’ consistency and execution between multiple systems and channels utilized in the booking process
  • Obtain, evaluate, and provide accommodations according to client guideline, requirements and SOPs,
  • Effectively utilize all Customer Service tools and technology to process, track and report transaction including AIMS-BMS as the airline tool to monitor and complete requests,
  • Professionally respond to all clients and/or vendors and escalate issues, complaints or service disruptions according to procedures,
  • Continually update and maintain company database with client transactions,
  • Provide continual feedback on customer service processes and procedures to improve SOPs and training processes,
  • Interact with internal departments,
  • Support other duties/projects as needed
