Aircraft Stocking/Delivery Associate

Delaware North oversees food and beverage operations at Boise Airport — adding several local concepts to the airport’s lineup, including Parilla Grill, 13th Street Bar & Grill, River City Coffee, Bardenay, along with Einstein Bros Bagel, Smashburger, Cross Grains Brew Pub, and Harvest & Grounds. In 2017, Delaware North added in-flight catering to its successful operations.

This position performs airline catering and provisioning, including removal of airline carts using a high lift truck, cleaning and restocking carts using user friendly specification and loading onto the airplanes before departures. Work is performed under supervision.

Position: Full Time, $10-12/hour, early mornings required.

Shifts include days, weekends, and holidays. Employees are required to provide services as requested for an operation that is open 365 days a year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Transports, loads, and/or delivers supplies and meals to aircraft, airlines, and fixed base operators using catering high lifts and delivery vans. Restocks airline carts and carrier equipment. Removes and washes all supplies and rotatable from airline equipment. Loads carts with crew and passenger meals. Following all regulations outlined by Federal Food Administration, Idaho Food Code and Airline Regulations. (50%)

Prepares small or large meals per various customer specification and menu recipes. Utilizes food service equipment such as far stove, oven, grills, and meat slicers. Performs food safety and quality checks by using a thermometer, documenting findings on written logs, and following a date labeling system. Follows all FDA and Central District Health Department regulations and completes written documentation reports as required. (30%)

Performs custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying trash cans to keep in-flight facility in compliance with FDA and CDHD Food Codes. Cleans and stocks restrooms and hand sink stations. Washes pots and pans used in food production. Performs other periodical custodial duties based on a master cleaning list, including cleaning of ice making machines, dishwashing machines, hood vents, and grounds maintenance such as shoveling snow and pulling weeds. (10%)

Reviews emails, communication logs and manuals for updates and changes to specific job details or employment issues. Performs initial and reoccurring training as required to maintain licenses and certifications required by City and outside agencies. (10%)

REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred knowledge, experience, and training

Requires education and/or experience to attain the following:

Two years meal preparation experience working in a high volume restaurant, institutional catering environment or related field, and a high school diploma or GED.

Working knowledge of meal preparation and food safety practices; general business office and telephone etiquette, computer operations including contemporary and related software applications; record keeping and filing practices; general customer service techniques.

Ability to obtain and retain Airport SIDA badge; read and interpret written specification, instructions, and diagrams; follow all food safety rules and regulations; safely utilize gas stoves, grills, ovens, and meat slicers; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies, and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have acceptable driving record.

Licensing and Other Requirements

  • Valid Idaho driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain Serv Safe training within three months of employment.
  • All applicants must be able to successfully pass a TSA background check
  • Boise Airport Non-Movement Drivers Training/Test

Physical Efforts

While performing the duties of this job the employee is always lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs, occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs and rarely pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs. The noise level is occasionally very loud. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear, smell, touch and feel. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb and balance. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.

Working Environment

The work environment will include inside condition, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme temperatures, in wet and humid conditions, with areas of dust, odors, mist, gases or other airborne matter. Employees work in/at heights. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position. Employees work around hazards such as aircrafts, ground equipment, and road traffic during transportation of catering materials. Work includes protected exposure to chemicals.
