Principal is looking for a Java developer to join our agile team supporting Human Resources. You will be working with a highly collaborative scrum team designing and implementing solutions used by employees and business partners. In this position, you will need to collaborate with other developers to create and drive solution development/delivery for our Java applications and services.

Corporate Systems Support HR works with our business partners to provide global HR solutions in an agile environment. We support a wide range of applications from in-house developed applications to integrating with third-party vendor applications.

Qualifications:

• For Entry level candidates, we are looking for someone with a computer-related degree and one of the following:
  • strong classroom experience with Java application development (web services, APIs)
  • or, an internship with heavy experience working with Java application development (web services, APIs)
• For Experienced candidates, we are looking for either:
  • someone with 1+ years of professional Java development experience (in this case, an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field would suffice)
  • strong candidates would have a computer-related degree and 2+ years of professional Java development experience with exposure to many of the “preferred” skills listed below

Additional preferred technical experience:

• SOAP and REST web service design or implementation experience.
• Development, build, and deployment tooling (e.g. Maven, Git, Bamboo, SourceTree)
• Experience working with 3rd party Vendor applications (Implementation, Integration)
• Experience developing in Rational Application Developer
• Experience with local install of WebSphere Application Server (WAS) or Tomcat
• Relational database experience is a plus (e.g. IBM SQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
• Automated Testing Tool experience (e.g. Selenium, Cucumber, Ranorex)
• Experience working in an agile of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) program
• Experience with continuous integration and modern application development (Agile/lean methods)
• Exposure to applications that deal with data (tools like informatica) or support of BI/reporting/analytics processes
• Familiar with Secure Software development concepts/practices
