The New York Film Academy was founded in 1992 on the belief that a top-quality education in filmmaking should be accessible to anyone with the drive and ambition to make films. The school opened at Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Film Center in New York City, and has expanded worldwide to include campuses in New York; Los Angeles; Miami; Sydney, and Gold Coast, Australia.

The mission of the New York Film Academy is to educate students interested in the field of visual storytelling. New York Film Academy is seeking a new team member to work as an associate in our Admissions Review office. This position is a Full TimeSalary Non-Exempt position. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and creative atmosphere providing services to our diverse students from around the world. Must be available Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm. Position is $17.50 – $20.00 an hour depending on experience.

Admissions Review:

  • Process and log into the database all incoming student application materials (Via mail, e-mail and fax)
  • Help maintain applicant physical files
  • Send out applicant acceptance letters
  • Assist with processing application materials
  • Assist staff with copying, filing, mail and data entry of student documents
  • Prepping new student orientation materials, checking files and preparing student registration paperwork
  • Supports assigned administrative personnel for the purpose of providing with their administrative functions.

Qualifications include:

  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills, ability to prioritize workload, handle multiple interruptions and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated skill in exercising patience, diplomacy and flexibility in interacting with the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone and in writing with individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Skill in accurate record keeping with strict attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills, very computer savvy, familiar with Apple OS, databases, Excel, MS Office
  • Ability to work on a team and independently
Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Student Service experience preferred
  • Higher Education experience preffered
  • Film Background required
