Functions/Duties of Position

The vision of the Clinical Informatics Department is to reap the full benefits of OHSU’s clinical information systems. The Department applies the science of informatics to facilitate excellence in patient care by creating clinical workflows and content that support the mission of OHSU.

This position is responsible for office and administrative management. Support will be given to managers, supervisors and staff members within the Clinical Informatics Department as required. The Administrative Manager will need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and be able to set a philosophy for the department that exhibits exemplary customer service. This position manages employees who will are responsible for all administrative functions within the department and any other duties assigned by this position.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree and 3 years of administrative, general office or secretarial experience; at least 1.5 years of experience must be in the healthcare industry
  • The employee must be dependable and able to function as part of a team as well as independently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills both oral and written
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong internet research knowledge and computer application skills
  • Ability to compose, edit and format correspondence
  • Ability to work with co-workers and customers in a professional and service-oriented manner
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems in an effective manner
  • Ability to identify recurring support issues and recommend operational or technical changes to resolve
  • Includes demands required in a traditional office environment: sitting and significant use of a computer
  • Ability to speak clearly
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and Administrative/Office experience in Health Information Services or Clinical Informatics
  • Timekeeping
  • Oracle and Kronos
