Position Summary:

This is a complex administrative assistant position providing support for Operating Room. Work is performed in accordance with oral or written instructions and results are evaluated through observation and discussion. Effective performance requires judgment and action under direct supervision.


Primary Duties:

  • Ensures administrative functions of the department(s) are met (including phone, faxes, email and written correspondence).
  • Organizes and maintains administrative filing (electronic and paper systems) and manages other departmental records.
  • Coordinates and arranges meetings (meeting room/location), preparing agendas and records minutes of meetings (as directed).
  • Conducts research and compiles statistical reports and/or other related performance improvement information for the operation of the department(s).
  • Coordinates system for operational and capital financial plan(s), requisitions, ordering supplies and tracking results for departmental manager(s).
  • Maintains and coordinates departmental employee attendance records and serves as a liaison regarding personnel (time and attendance related).
  • Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.

    Education:


    Required
    Graduation from an accredited high school.


    Experience:

    At least three (3) years of administrative or secretarial experience in a hospital or related service oriented office setting.


    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Advanced courses in office administration science and office management preferred. Additional training in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications highly desirable. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook Calendar Scheduling.
