About the Job

Magoosh works hard to attract and retain passionate people who are driven by our mission to make education more accessible. Administrative support is an essential building block that fuels our ability to make an impact as a company. We are looking for an agile team player who is willing to jump in and help wherever needed. You will partner with many people across all of our departments here at Magoosh. You’ll work closely with our Recruiter, Operations Manager, Student Help department, Director of Operations, and CEO. And, you will report to our People Operations lead, Amrita.

You’ll ensure that all of our processes run smoothly and our teammates and candidates are treated well. You will be an integral part of our team, tackling office assistance tasks, coordination, student support, and more!

This is an in-office position with an average of 30 hours (20 to 35) needed per week, with the possibility of more hours in the future.

This position is based in the Magoosh office in Berkeley, CA with an hourly rate of $28-32, depending on experience. You must be authorized to work in the US.

In this position, you will support…

  • Our Operations Manager by…
  • Keeping our kitchen fully stocked and running smoothly
  • Maintaining tidy and well-stocked conference rooms, common areas, and storage spaces
  • Maintaining our office facilities and interacting with building management when needed
  • Helping coordinate office events and managing Friday lunch coordination as needed
  • Providing a positive in-office experience: meeting and greeting guests who come to our office, including partners, friends, and interviewees
  • Our Director of Operations by…
  • Working with our Business Operations team to pay bills and handle recording of billing payments
  • Preparing for and setting up monthly and other ad hoc meetings (e.g., brainstorming sessions, learning sessions, etc)
  • Uploading and organizing documents, supporting monthly financials, and responding to questions from our external contacts
  • Our CEO and Founder by…
  • Helping respond to and organize emails, scheduling meetings, and taking on recurring survey send out
  • Our Recruiter by…
  • Helping review applications, compiling sourcing leads, and executing on recruiting outreach strategies as needed
  • Ensuring positive candidate experience through interview scheduling and coordination

  • Helping answer student questions about our product and responding to student phone calls

You…

  • Have previous experience working in an office management, administrative, or support role
  • Are adept at context switching between many different skills and tasks
  • Are effective at working with a variety of different point people and adapting to different work styles
  • Are friendly, positive and love helping others
  • Have computer skills (knowledge of Google docs, etc) and a willingness to learn and use new tools
  • Have excellent written communication skills
  • Are able to switch gears quickly and can adapt to change as needed
  • Are self-directed and enjoy taking ownership over your work
  • Can handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Have experience working in a fast-paced environment in a supportive role
  • Can work in Berkeley, 20-35 hours per week
