Administrative Assistant

An Associate’s Degree in Business or a related degree AND three (3) years of general

office experience. A Bachelor’s Degree

is preferred. An equivalent combination

of education and experience may be substituted.

It is the policy of Allegheny

County that in order to receive a final offer of employment, candidates must

successfully pass background check and drug screening/medical examinations as

required for the position. Department Summary: The Department of Court Records is responsible

for receiving, docketing, indexing, and preserving documents in all cases for

the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. Duties:
Processes daily attendance records, payroll

information, and internal personnel files.

Calculates payroll and salary information.

Interacts with personnel from other County

departments and offices.

Corresponds and communicates with other

government entities.

Ensures accuracy and completeness and corrects

errors as needed.

Answers telephone and provides customer service

assistance.

Performs other related work as requested or

required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of:
Data entry procedures and related office

practices

Personal computer features and functions

including Windows-based programs

Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

Ability to:
Work on multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to

detail

Work proactively and independently, as well as

part of a team

Accurately and promptly enter data into a

personal computer

Proofread and verify data

Work under general supervision and follow oral

and written instructions

Maintain accurate records

Learn to use new computer software as required.

Communicate effectively with co-workers,

supervisors, other County personnel, and the public.

Residency:Allegheny County within 1 year. Veterans’ Preference:
