If you answered yes to the questions above, we want to meet you! Bikes and Hikes LA is a rapidly growing Eco-Tourism focused company located in the heart of West Hollywood. We are looking to expand our current tour guide pool in anticipation of now heading into our busy season. We have a comprehensive training program in place for both our biking and hiking tour offerings. The hours are flexible, the compensation can be great (depending on how good you are – a large part of your package is tip based), guide incentive bonus programs, and the fun factor is HUGE!

Job Duties:

• Leading biking and hiking tours around Los Angeles which includes being well versed in Los Angeles history. Don’t worry, we will train you!

• Greeting guests, fitting them on their bikes, providing a pre-tour safety speech and ensuring that the tour bikes and other equipment used is properly cleaned and maintained pre/post tour.
• Being a goodwill ambassador on behalf of Bikes and Hikes LA—helping to upsell other tours/services based on your knowledge/enthusiasm for the company.

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualities:

• Hi-Energy, Fun and Engaging Personalities: your success depends on connecting with your tour guests. We need genuine, warm and enthusiastic guides able to not only tell stories about the city but listen to the stories from our guests. If you have teaching, military, or public speaking experience, you’re an even better fit. Above all, you must be customer service oriented.
• Quick Learners: In your training program, you will learn the rich history of Los Angeles. We need you to learn it fast and well. And, as safety for our guests is our #1 priority, you will be thoroughly trained in first aid, bike safety and bike maintenance. A valid CPR/First Aid certified certificate will be a requirement of employement.
• Bilingual: Our guests come from all over the world and we are looking for guides who can communicate with them in their native languages. That said, if you speak another language, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Mandarin or Portuguese that puts you to top of our list.
• Required Skills/Knowledge: You must be at least 18 years of age with a valid United States driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous work or tourism industry, event planning, work or volunteer experience in camps, museums, classrooms or other informal educational settings are all ideal.
