Acquisitions Associate

CREC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to assume a key position on CREC’s acquisitions team. CREC’s acquisitions team is extremely active throughout multiple sectors and has access to the capital to facilitate the team’s goals. The ideal candidate should have a proactive, tenacious and entrepreneurial approach to growing the existing portfolio by identifying off-market opportunities and participating in underwriting on-market opportunities. The candidate will play an integral role in all stages of the acquisition process, including origination, structuring, underwriting and execution for all product types across the state of Florida. This is a collaborative role where the individual will work on a on a team that includes company principals and will report to the Senior Vice President. The compensation will be presented as a base salary plus the potential to participate in select transactions.


Summary of Job Description:

  • Author and modify financial models in Excel and ARGUS
  • Assist with the underwriting and due diligence process for potential investments and dispositions
  • Cold call and canvass on and off market opportunities
  • Prepare investment memoranda
  • Conduct due diligence for various assets for potential acquisitions
  • Prepare market analysis reports, including vacancy, absorption, and comparable rents and sales
  • Collaborate with executive team to identify and develop a target list of markets throughout the state of Florida
  • Maintain pipeline of potential acquisitions
  • Present investment opportunities to the acquisition team
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly team investment round tables

Preferred Professional Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, quantitative and technical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or other business discipline
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in an acquisition-related position
  • In-depth knowledge of the Florida market, including a solid understanding of the dynamics of various locations, submarkets, economic conditions and financial markets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be self-motivated and proactive with a sense of urgency
  • Possess pride in providing high-quality work product
  • Must have strong financial analysis, modeling and analytical skills
