Accounting Specialist- Order processing

Blue Dog Bakery is looking for an All Star to join our team! We are seeking a well-organized, service oriented star who is ready, willing and able to work hard to help grow a small company. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, new ideas and suggestions to the team.

The role: We are seeking a dynamic individual who will be responsible for order processing and invoicing activity, customer remittance deductions, accounts receivable, monthly commission statements, other accounting and order processing support as needed.

More specific details about the role:

  • Process customer orders via company accounting system.
  • Properly and accurately book promotions, placement and other payment deductions from customer remittances with related credit memos.
  • Manage documentation and deduction support for monthly accruals and to book all related expenses.
  • Create, monitor and manage invoices and open accounts receivable.
  • Ensure documents are properly transmitted through EDI and all relevant information is archived with corresponding purchase orders.
  • Prepare and process all commission statements to brokers in a timely fashion.
  • Reconcile accounts payable with vendors and ensure all invoices are entered properly.
  • Learn and provide support for operations tasks including
  • Production planning and inventory monitoring
  • Schedule and monitor product shipments
  • Review and analyze sales, operational and financial data and create relevant reporting.
  • Manage and update customer records in accounting system.
  • Assist with projects to gain efficiencies within the operations team to assist with company growth.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation with outside accounting firm.
  • Handle ad hoc requests with superior level of service.
  • Performs various other duties as requested.

Experience level that you have:

  • Four-year college degree, Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Comfortable working with online vendor tracking systems, online accounting systems, and EDI (electronic data interchange).
  • Possess strong customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize daily/weekly/monthly work to ensure that priority tasks are completed in timely manner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented.
