Accounting Specialist

We are a growing financial institution based in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, that offers its employees a competitive salary/benefits package and a fun work environment. We are looking for an accounting professional to perform a variety of accounting duties related to the accounting function of the credit union. To succeed in this position, candidates should have basic accounting, computer, and problem-solving skills. You should also be analytical and organized.

Accounting Specialist – Responsibilities:

• Accounts payable processing including preparing, paying, and filing invoices
• Transaction processing – daily processing and posting of electronic data files (including accounting for returns and exceptions) for the following systems:

o ACH

o Member share drafts

o Mobile check deposits

• Preparing and entering journal entries
• Preparing monthly audit workpapers including account reconciliations for assigned G/L accounts

Accounting Specialist – Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in accounting
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designation a plus
• Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the organization
• Ability to complete accounting assignments on-time and in accordance with specific instructions
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good accuracy and attention to detail skills
