Accounting + Operations

Rustic Marlin creates and manufactures premium wooden décor and furniture for leading retailers, boutiques and direct consumers. We are looking for a reliable, highly motivated individual who has the financial and operations background and vision to join us in taking Rustic Marlin to the next level. Your forward-thinking and hands-on approach will be essential to the successful operations and result of all respective actions. Your knowledge and experience should allow you to step right into this role successfully and effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the daily operations of all accounting related activities with a high level of compliance and accuracy.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
  • Oversee overall credit approval process.
  • Own and manage all commission and royalty reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements on a timely basis.
  • Identify, provide recommendations and implement new ways to improve processes, new vendors to consider and other related ways to work more effectively.
  • Collaborates with the owners and financial consultants with related projects as they arise and in meeting overall financial goals and objectives.
  • Supports and drives financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Coordinate with inventory and sales regarding all item and inventory related activities.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors, customers and key business partners.
  • Assist owners with operational activities, including but not limited to human resources, business planning and other strategic initiatives within the company.
  • Work successfully both independently and within a team environment. Consider the ideas of others and work collaboratively to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Be accountable and forward thinking in your actions and scheduling.
  • Share your passion for both your role and the company with colleagues and external audiences.

QUALIFICATION + SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent, or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years experience in similar accounting environment
  • Proven knowledge and experience in QuickBooks or similar related programs
  • Reliable, detail oriented and highly motivated
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills
  • Passionate about the product and role within the company
  • Knowledgeable and experienced enough to step right into a fast paced work environment
  • Willingness to assist beyond standard job description boundaries
