DoubleTree Alana Waikiki by Hilton, a beautifully modern hotel in walking distance from Kahanamoku Beach in Honolulu, is actively looking for an Accounting Manager to assist the Director of Finance in the day-to-day accounting functions.

What will I be doing?

Accounting Manager will be the right hand person to the Director of Finance. Responsible for supervising staff pertaining to all computerized accounting systems, month-end closing reports, general ledger reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and income audit. Responsible for payroll, cash and credit card reconciliation. Assist in preparation of Corporate and Owner Audits. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Reconciles General Ledger accounts and reviews problematic accounts.

Directs staff in follow-up accounts.

Supervises finance staff and ensures all reports are processed promptly, such as month end closing reports, monthly forecasting, variance reports and visually reviews for accuracy.

Handles full-cycle Payroll and interaction with team members

Income and Bank Audit

Assist in preparation of all audits.

Maintains compliance with Hilton SOPs and SPIs for all Finance and hotel operations.

What are we looking for?

EDUCATION

High School graduate or equivalent required.

College degree in finance related area is preferred however experience equivalent to the roles and responsibilities will be considered in lieu of education.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two years of full-service accounting (general ledger reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, income audit) experience in a hotel or resort or similar experience required.

3-5 years direct supervisory experience

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Good working knowledge of Hospitality accounting systems.

Strong working knowledge of NOVELL Finance Network, Excel and Word/MS Office.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and prepare and analyze complex financial reports and make judgments.

Basic understanding of complex computerized financial systems and ability to use it including manual dexterity to operate all office machines.

Detail oriented and organized

Ability to effectively deal with guest and team members concerns in a friendly and positive manner, listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer/team member and providing positive and proactive solutions.
