Accounting Manager

JECSI is a mid-sized company of environmental consultants and engineers and technical, scientific, and business software application developers and engineers that provides environmental, health and safety services to large industrial companies. JECSI has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager.

The Accounting Manager supervises the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department and reports to the Operations Manager.

Essential duties

Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Preparing bank and credit card reconciliations.

Managing general ledger accounts.

Managing accounting staff.

Processing payroll.

Preparing financial statements.

Position requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline with significant accounting coursework.

3+ years of experience in accounting.

Knowledge and experience in US GAAP.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to interact with many different types of individuals.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Able to pass background examination which includes credit and criminal history.

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Other desirable skills

Experience managing others.

Knowledge and experience with Deltek FMS, Deltek Vision and Quickbooks.

Working conditions

The job requires some minor amounts of physical exertion, including sitting, standing, occasional light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. The job requires operation of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, etc. The job requires following written and oral instructions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, ability to work with others and ability to meet deadlines. The job requires following established policies and procedures, meeting quality and safety standards and regular attendance. The job requires making decisions based on experience and knowledge without supervision and requires responsibility for results.

Salary range

$60,000 – $75,000 per year.
