Denton House Design Studio has an immediate opening for a full-time and benefited Accounting Manager position. The manager is responsible for overseeing and mentoring a team of Project Accountants. The team is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, supporting project managers, investigating variances, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected. You need to love collaborating, finding creative solutions, improving processes, and helping to make your internal clients’ lives easier.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the team’s internal clients: management, project managers, and designers to ensure accurate and consistent billing and financial reporting at the project level.
• Manage and review the project reconciliation process.
• Reviews proposals, budgets, estimates, and other client deliverables.
• Manage Project Accountants working in multiple locations.
• Standardize processes, client deliverables, and implement best practices.
• Establishes and maintains internal controls and process documentation.
• Manages shared network documents.
• Communicate with upper management, direct reports, and project managers in a precise and professional manner.
• Monitor project accounts receivable and drive collection efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5-7 years of related experience; 2 year supervisory; public accounting preferred.
• Understanding of GAAP and general ledger.
• Must be proficient in Excel and able to learn additional systems quickly. Experience using QuickBooks/Timberline is a plus.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills with a proven track record in team building and creating a positive working environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Possesses the ability to delegate and work effectively through others.
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, motivate employees, work on multiple projects, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Willing to work overtime to ensure deadlines are met.
