Accounting Clerk

The Seattle Division has an opening for an Accounting Clerk. This position is located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Job Description:

This position provides general clerical and accounting support to an Accounting Manager and other management for the Safeway Anchorage Distribution Center and a Wholesale Sales Operation which provides products and services to Rural Alaska.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would be an energetic, analytical-minded individual with strong attention to detail.

1-2 years of accounting (or related) experience with exposure to Account Reconciliations, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable is preferred. Qualified candidates would be adaptable with a customer service skill-set and an ability to prioritize workload to complete assigned tasks efficiently and with accuracy.

Must have proficiency with computer and office equipment, as well as extreme proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent communication and follow-through is expected.

Key Position Responsibilities:

• Code and process vendor invoices for payment, verify payment status, and complete accounts payable reconciliation

• Create accounts receivable aging reports

• Code invoices and complete reconciliations for purchasing cards.

• Create and maintain various reconciliation and tracking documents in Excel

• Complete short-term projects requiring analysis and present to management

• Maintain customer database, send invoice statements, and contact customers requesting payment status on open invoices

• Maintain vendor files

• Payroll processing as needed

• Run reports to provide financial insight to potential new customers

• Provide general office support such as running reports, scanning documents, and filing

• Other duties as assigned
