ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Overview:
The Accounting Assistant position is located at our East Glacier Administrative offices. This position assists the accounting department with day-to-day operations: Enters accounts payable, verifies the accuracy and reporting of deposits, Aloha tickets, cash overage/shortage forms, credit cards, assists with filing and with other job duties as requested or necessary. Performs a variety of tasks and assists in other departments as required.

Responsibilities:
Adheres to all company policies and regulations.

Works with Accounts Receivables Clerk to ensure deposit information is received to ensure proper payments are recorded.

Verifies the accuracy of the nightly reservations audits and prepares entries for month end.

Maintains daily and monthly files of deposits and prepares entries required for month end.

Maintains daily and monthly files on credit card charge backs and solutions and prepares entries for month end.

Maintains daily and monthly files on other income and prepares entries for month end.

May order and maintain inventories and organize office supplies.

May assist with making copies, providing forms & processing faxes for Managers & staff.

Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position.

Must perform at a competent level in all aspects of position.

Will assist in other departments or with other duties as required.

Qualifications:
10 key, computer skills and a high degree of accuracy in work required.

General office and accounting experience preferred.

Good organization and communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills required.

Must be team-oriented, positive and upbeat.

Must use tact and discretion due to exposure to confidential matters.

Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with co-workers.

Must provide clear and precise instruction through effective communication, organization, oral & written skills.

Must be professional, pleasant, helpful, friendly, positive, outgoing and courteous in all interactions.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Position requires frequent sitting, occasional stair climbing, bending, and lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment:
Office setting. National Park setting.

Varied shifts and flexible schedules are required, including holidays, weekends, split shifts, etc.

Occasional travel to various departments & locations required.

Will work indoors and frequently outdoors, at times in inclement conditions.

Non-smoking environment.
