Accounting and Finance Specialist

Job Descriptions:
The Accounting and Finance Specialist will split his/her time between Accounting (60%) and sales deal financing (35%). The A/F Supervisor coordinates finance, insurance and sales deal requirements/processes, as well as managing Michael’s Cycle Works’ accounting functions, as defined by the Group Controller. In addition, the holder of this role will prepare, submit, and rectify any deficiencies in lender or deal requirements according to best practices and legal requirements.

Primary duties and responsibilities, not limited to:Accounting (60% of time):
Reconciles bank statements and vendor invoices

Reconciles cash drawers for retail facility

Enters AP/AR transactions in Lightspeed and/or Great Plains

Prepares check runs

Reconcile and file quarterly tire Tax

Reconcile and file monthly sales tax report

Audit, reconcile, and pay floor plan, as required

Creates journal entries for inter-company transactions

Maintain appropriate office supply levels in office and dealership

Compare price and quantity received on purchase orders to manufacturer invoices

Maintain well-organized file-keeping system

Safeguards sensitive Company and employee data

Creates various reports for use by accounting, management, and other constituents

Sales and Sales Deal Processing (35% of time):
Review sales deals for accuracy, take corrective action, and finalize in DMS

Review financing documents for accuracy and take corrective action as necessary

Submit financing documents to appropriate lender, correct deficiencies, and resubmit as appropriate

Establish and maintain good working relationships with lenders and insurance product sources

Safeguards all personally identifiable information according to industry best practices, local, state, and Federal regulations (such as, Red Flags, OFAC and Safe-Guards rules)

Processes motor vehicle and warranty registrations

Participates in weekly sales meetings regarding F&I training and issues

Regularly interact and successfully collaborate with employees and customers

Required Experience:
High school diploma (Associates degree preferred)

5+ years’ experience in a dealership accounting role

Detail-oriented while maintaining high productivity

Proven ability to appropriately solve complex problems with minimal supervisory input

Basic ability in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word, specifically)

Ability to work independently

Previous experience using CDK Lightspeed, Microsoft Great Plains, or other ERP

Ability to successfully pass a criminal background, MVR, credit, and drug screen
