Accounting and Finance Specialist

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting:

  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, and reviewing financial reports as necessary
  • Analyze and report on financial status including income statement, communicating financial results to management
  • Perform cost analysis and suggest areas for cost improvement
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Prepare balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports

Finance:

  • Support team members on various projects through research, data compilation, financial analyses and report writing.
  • Conduct proforma analysis of potential opportunities including cash flow, debt, preferred return and ROI analyses.
  • Assist in financial analysis of existing projects and potential opportunities utilizing Excel.
  • Performs monthly profitability analysis
  • Reviews monthly operating results and understands and explains monthly activity and variances for financial reporting
  • Prepare / coordinate the annual plan with business partners including maintaining budget templates, consolidated schedules and overall business commentary.
  • Prepares ad hoc analyses for important variances and processes that are working differently than expected
  • Create internal and external investment and finance packages.
  • Conduct market research and project due diligence including rent and sales comparable research, demographic studies and analysis, and feasibility analysis
  • Provide research support in targeted markets through direct research and internal and external resources. Collect and follow market research on industry trends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1-3 years or less experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in property management industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance or Accounting
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (must have advanced skills and be able to create and edit complex financial formulas) and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Must have strong analytical, quantitative, and market research skills.
  • Strong cash flow modeling skills.
  • Prior work experience in financial analysis capacity is required.
  • Must be a team player and be able to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must have a can-do attitude, be teachable, and be able to adapt to changes quickly
  • Must be proactive and have a strong personal initiative and desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Must have strategic thought process with great attention to detail.
  • Be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to prepare financial reports / documents

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 /hour
